Dance Theatre of Harlem was founded in 1968 by legendary African American ballet dancer Arthur Mitchell as a sign of his commitment to the people of Harlem, following the assassination of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Following it's first visit to England in 1988 the company re-visited Sadler's Wells in November 2002
